In January 2019, I sought to fill a vacancy position in the Colorado State Senate. I was not selected for the Senate District 26 appointment. Over these many years as an education leader and children’s advocate, I’ve come to understand there are many capacities and means in which to effect change. As a community, we learn a great deal in the striving, regardless of the outcome. Personally, I have learned each endeavor that takes us outside of our comfort zone and pushes the boundaries of our perceived limitations is worthwhile and justifiable. For these reasons, I’ve never been afraid to try.

Thank you to all of those who lent their support and to the many volunteers who rolled up their sleeves for the common good. Democracy is an ideal realized only through the actions of its respective citizenry.
